Newsmax and the Weave Wars: What's Congruent?

Newsmax, huh? Still kicking? You gotta admire the hustle, I guess. They're going to the RBC Capital Markets Global Technology, Internet, Media & Telecommunications Conference in NYC next year. Good for them. (Newsmax to Attend the RBC Capital Markets Global Technology, Internet, Media & Telecommunications Conference)

Who even attends these things, anyway? A bunch of suits patting each other on the back while the world burns? Probably.

The Christopher Ruddy Show

Christopher Ruddy, the CEO, will be there. Of course, he will. You know, Newsmax is always "attending" something, or some host is saying something completely off the rails. Remember when that Newsmax host Rob Schmitt claimed SNAP recipients are using their benefits to "get their weaves" done? I mean, give me a break. The casual racism is just...ugh. (Newsmax Host: SNAP Recipients Are Getting 'Weaves')

And then there's Greg Kelly saying hijabs aren't "congruent with American culture." What is American culture these days? Is it just unfiltered bigotry?

Look, I get it. Newsmax has a niche. They cater to a certain audience. But at what cost? They platform people like Nick Fuentes, and then Rick Santorum has to walk it back, saying Kevin Roberts "missed it a little bit" by defending Tucker Carlson's decision to give Fuentes a platform. "Missed it a little bit"? That's like saying the Titanic "missed the iceberg a little bit."

"Hitler-Era Rhetoric in Palestinian Drag"

Then there's Rabbi Menkin, popping up on Newsmax to compare the Mamdani-Tucker Carlson thing to "Hitler-era rhetoric in Palestinian drag." Seriously? Is that the level of discourse we're aiming for?

Newsmax and the Weave Wars: What's Congruent?

It's all just so exhausting.

Newsmax says they reach "more than 40 million Americans regularly." 40 million. That's a lot of people potentially being fed this...stuff. I wonder how many of those 40 million actually believe what they're hearing. Or do they just like the outrage?

I guess outrage sells. It always has.

Are they really a "news powerhouse," as Forbes called them? I'm not so sure. More like a rage amplifier, if you ask me.

But hey, they're listed on the NYSE as NMAX. So, they must be doing something right, right? Or maybe it just shows how messed up the market is...

So, What's the Real Story?

Newsmax will keep doing what Newsmax does. They'll keep pushing the envelope, stirring the pot, and raking in the cash. And honestly, who's going to stop them? It's a free country, offcourse. Even if it feels like we're all just sliding further and further into the abyss.
