spacex launch today: what happened

Okay, so ULA finally got their act together and launched the ViaSat-3 F2 satellite after a one-day delay. Big deal. Meanwhile, SpaceX is slinging Starlink satellites into orbit like they're freaking frisbees. I mean, 29 Starlink V2 Minis on one Falcon 9 rocket? Give me a break. The Billionaire Space Race: Who's Winning?

Let's be real, this whole space thing has turned into a billionaire's playground. We've got Musk with his Starlink obsession, providing "connectivity" while simultaneously cluttering up the night sky. And then there's ULA, still clinging to the Atlas V, a rocket that's practically an antique at this point, scheduled for retirement around 2030. Seriously? Is that the best we can do? It's like watching a Model T race against a Tesla.

And for what? So ViaSat-3 F2 can "add more than 1 Tbps capacity to our network over the Americas." Sounds impressive, right? But who actually benefits? Airline passengers? Corporations? Meanwhile, the average person is still stuck with spotty internet and exorbitant bills. It's a joke.

Speaking of jokes, did you see that the Falcon 9 first stage booster (B1094) landed on the drone ship ‘Just Read the Instructions’? You know, I've always wondered who comes up with these names. It's either genius or completely absurd. Maybe both.

The Beaver Moon and Other Distractions

Oh, and let's not forget the "Beaver full moon, which is the largest and brightest superman of 2025." Wow, how poetic. Look, I get it, space is cool. But all this hype and PR is just a distraction. A shiny object to keep us from noticing that we're basically funding these guys' expensive hobbies.

I saw some comments from people who actually watched the launches. Dana Havron is looking forward to the Artemis II launch. Cynthia A Nielsen, bless her heart, is "excited and emotional" about the launches. Howard A Sutherland watched from Port Saint Lucie. Good for them, I guess. Are they thinking about what this is really costing us, though?

And another thing... SpaceX has at least seven Starlink missions planned before Thanksgiving Day. Seven! What is this, some kind of cosmic Black Friday sale?

Is anyone else tired of this? I mean, I am.

The Future is... More of the Same?

ULA is pinning their hopes on the Vulcan Centaur as the Atlas V's replacement. Great. Another rocket. Another promise of innovation. But will it actually change anything? Or will it just be another way for the rich to get richer while the rest of us watch from the sidelines?

ViaSat-3 F1 already launched on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket in April 2023, providing connectivity primarily to airline passengers. So, you know, the really important stuff. And ViaSat-3 F3 will do the same for the Asia-Pacific region. Because apparently, the entire world needs faster Wi-Fi on airplanes.

Maybe I'm just being cynical. Maybe there's some grand, noble purpose behind all this. But let's be real, it all boils down to money, power, and ego. And frankly, I'm tired of paying for it.

So, What's the Real Endgame?

It's all about the optics. Shiny rockets, excited onlookers, and promises of a brighter future. But behind the smoke and mirrors, it's the same old story: the rich get richer, and the rest of us are left holding the bag. Maybe it's time to stop applauding and start asking some tough questions. Ain't holding my breath, offcourse.
